Building owner, garment authorities summoned
The High Court on Thursday summoned the owner of Rana Plaza, a building, that collapsed at Savar on Wednesday and the managing directors and chairmen of the garment factories housing the building to appear before it on April 30.
Sohel Rana is the owner of the plaza.
The court in a suo moto rule also asked the officer-in-charge of Savar Police Station to produce them before it by 10:30am on April 30 in connection with the factory collapse that killed at least 191 people and injured over 1,200.
The court passed the order after Dr Kamal Hossain placed the reports published on The Daily Star and Bangla daily Prothom Alo on the incident.
Dr Kamal Hossain told The Daily Star that the trio will have to explain their roles in connection with the accident.
