BPC adopts code of conduct for journalists

The Bangladesh Press Council (BPC) has adopted a code of conduct for the newspapers, news agencies and journalists. The code of conduct, which was approved and translated into English, was accepted at a session of the BPC held in the city yesterday with its chairman Justice Mozammel Haque MP in the chair.

In the session, verdicts of six cases filed with the Press Council were also approved. Council secretary MA Bashar Khan presented the activities of the last session.

Press Council members BFUJ President Gias Kamal Chowdhury, Editor of Dainik Inqilab AMM Bahauddin, general secretary of Chittagong Editors' Council Moinuddin Quaderi Shawkat, Editor of Dainik Sangram Abul Asad, Director General of Bangla Academy Prof Abul Monsur Mohammad Abu Musa and Member of Bangladesh Bar Council Adv Syed Ahmed addressed the session.
