Body of missing JU student found on the bank of Turag
The decomposed body of a student of Jahangirnagar University, who had been missing since January 6, was recovered from Kotbari on the bank of Turag River on Friday.
The victim, Firoz Alam Parash, a 3rd year student of Physics Department was resident of 127, East Tejkunipara in the capital.
Police and family sources said Parash was missing since January 6 after leaving home.
It is suspected that he was killed as a sequel to a dispute over his affair with a girl in the area.
Rabiul Alam, brother of the victim, lodged a GD with the police on Sunday and later an abduction case on Wednesday.
After autopsy in DMCH, the body was brought to the campus and later sent to his village home in Dinajpur for burial.
The students of the university have decided to bring out a mourning procession and hold a condolence meeting on the campus Monday.
