BNP to join general election: Quader

Communications Minister Obaidul Quader on Tuesday said the pressure of not being in power for a long period would force BNP to participate in the next general election.
While visiting Shahid Moyez Uddin Toll Plaza at Ghorashal in Narsingdi, the minister said there is no alternative to flourish democracy through free and fair elections and the opposition needs to work together with the government to reach the aim.
"Everyone is talking about dialogues. The history of dialogues is not very good in our country; there is need of an open and honest mind for it to work," he added.
Quader, also a presidium member of the ruling Awami League, alleged different developed countries and groups from home and abroad with vested interests are envious of Bangladesh.
