BNP parliamentary party meets Monday
Opposition leader Khaleda Zia has convened a meeting of the BNP parliamentary party at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on Monday afternoon.
The meeting is due to start at 4:00pm at the office of the leader of the opposition, BNP insiders told The Daily Star on Saturday.
The opposition lawmakers expected to discuss their joining the budget session which begins on June 3.
The opposition deputies including BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia will lose their membership if they skip the upcoming session of the parliament.
The lawmakers have already remained absent for over 83 consecutive days on an average.
According to the constitution, an MP will lose his/her membership in parliament if they remain absent in parliament for 90 days at a stretch without prior permission of the Speaker.
