BNP parliamentarians demand release of arrested activists

BNP parliamentarians yesterday demanded immediate release of Chhatra Dal president Habibunnabi Sohel, general secretary Nasiruddin Ahmed Pintu and president of Ramna thana BNP Chowdhury Alam, reports UNB.

In a joint statement, they also demanded withdrawal of "false" cases filed against them.

The BNP lawmakers said the government arrested the BNP leaders in a bid to foil the anti-government movement.

They said arrest of Sohel, Pintu and Alam and keeping them in jail under special powers act is the reflection of fascism of the government.
