BNP leader Salahuddin remanded
BNP Joint Secretary General Salahuddin Ahmed was placed on a three-day remand on Tuesday in a case filed for blasting cocktails, assaulting police and preventing them from discharging duties in front of BNP's Nayapaltan office on April 1.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Harun-ur-Rashid passed the order after Shyamol Devnath, a sub-inspector of Paltan Police Station and also the investigation officer of the case, produced Salahuddin before the court seeking a 10-day remand for him.
The court also rejected the bail petition submitted by a lawyer of Salahuddin.
Detective Branch of police arrested Salahuddin at the Gulshan home of BNP Vice-Chairman Morshed Ali Khan Monday night.
