BNP accuses AL of torching its iftar party tent in Ctg
BNP leaders of Chittagong yesterday demanded immediate arrest of the perpetrators who had vandalised and torched the tent and furniture of their iftar party on Thursday in Kadernagar.
They made the demand at a press conference held at Chittagong Press Club yesterday morning.
Yunus Talukder, BNP Rangunia Upazila unit president, read out a written statement which said "Awami League cadres" destroyed their arrangements for the iftar party scheduled for Friday.
However, Dedarul Alam Choudhury, education affairs secretary of AL Chittagong North district unit, denied any involvement of his party men and blamed internal feud of BNP for the incident.
At the conference, Yunus also threatened to begin tough programmes after Eid if the people involved in the arson and vandalism were not arrested soon. Gias Uddin Quader Chowdhury, president of BNP Chittagong North District unit, also spoke.
