Bishwajit murder case set for speedy trial

A speedy trial tribunal will deal with a case filed for the killing of tailor Bishwajit Das in old part of the capital in December.
The case was sent to the tribunal from the Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court in Dhaka Sunday as per a home ministry decision.
Earlier on June 2, the sessions court framed charges against 21 activists of Jagannath University unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) in the case.
The BCL men stabbed Bishwajit, 24, to death, a proprietor of Amantron Tailors in Shakharibazar area in Sutrapur, during a road-blockade programme enforced by the BNP-led 18-party alliance on December 9 last year.
