Beating up a journalist

The news of one of the MPs of the present ruling party getting arrested by the law enforcing agency not only made me surprised but also thoughtful about AL's strategy behind this. Is it only due to the local politics of Doshmina-Golachipa or are there any other reasons? As a matter of fact, I used to read many of Rony's articles published in Bangladesh Protidin. I got a picture out of reading his articles that Mr. Rony might be one of the good new soldiers in the AL who will bring some good senses in the AL politics. In the last days of a government, hitting a journalist or even misbehaving with one by a ruling party MP is suicidal for the party. And, for sure, the more such incidents, less the chances are for AL in the next election.
