BATB awarded

The British American Tobacco Bangladesh (BATB) has obtained recognition from Shandhani National Eye Donation Society for its outstanding contribution and support to Shandhani, says a press release.

Stephen Daintith, Managing Director of BATB, received a special crest and a certificate of recognition from Dr Shoaib Ahmed, Chairman, National Board of Revenue (NBR) at the prize distribution ceremony of Shandhani Blindness Relief Lottery at the National Press Club on Thursday.

BATB has been supporting Shandhani since its inception in 1984. During these 19 years, BATB's assistance to Shandhani has ranged from financial and advisory support as well as donation of Shandhani's first vehicle to assist in cornea collection.

Ruhul Amin Mozumdar, President of Shandhani, and Prof C H Kabir, Convener of Shandhani Blindness Relief Lottery committee, were also present on the occasion.
