Barisal journos demand new pay scale

Barisal Reporters Unity yesterday demanded immediate announcement of a new pay scale for journalists following the eighth wage board recommendations and urged the government to repeal the proposed amendment to the ICT act.
The call came from BRU's 14th annual general meeting which elected Nazrul Biswas as president and Bappi Majumdar as secretary for one year.
BRU leaders said the draft ICT act would threaten the right to freedom of opinion and expression.
