Bangladesh's sound start
Bangladesh started off on a winning note in the Asia Cup U-16 Hockey Five tournament as they handed a 7-2 defeat to hosts Singapore yesterday.
Deen Islam and Sagor struck two goals each while Riazul, Rakin and Nayeem netted one goal apiece in the match which was divided into three sessions of 12 minutes each.
The boys from Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP) carried their first match's success into the second as they outplayed mighty Malaysia 6-3. Emon scored four goals while Nayeem struck twice for Bangladesh, who are scheduled to play their third match against Kazakhstan today.
