Dhaka-Mymensingh train service resumes after 3 hrs
Rail communication has resumed between Dhaka and Mymensingh after remaining suspended for three hours.
Shamima Akter, station master of Sreepur Railway Station, said rail communication has resumed after three hours of pause, reports UNB.
The train communication on the route remained suspended since yesterday (May 16, 2022) evening after some iron angles fell on the rail track from a speedy truck near the Sreepur Railway Station in Gazipur.
The incident happened around 7:30pm yesterday on the Sreepur-Gosinga road, our Gazipur correspondent reports quoting the Sreepur railway station master.
Due to the suspension of train movements for the last four and a half hours, the Mymensingh-bound Brahmaputra Express got stuck at the outer signal on the south side of Sreepur Railway Station while the Dhaka-bound Mohua Express train at Kawraid Railway Station.
The station master said a truck carrying several iron angles from a steel factory in Gosinga area of Sreepur upazila was heading towards to an under-construction factory at Bhangnahati.
She said some 10 large angles of iron from truck fell on the railway track while the truck was passing the railway crossing near the Sreepur Railway Station.
