Post-deprived BCL men block Dhaka-Mawa Expressway

Leaders and activists of Munshiganj's Sreenagar Government College unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League, who were deprived of posts in the newly announced college committee, blocked Dhaka-Mawa Expressway in Munshiganj for nearly an hour today.
Witnesses said the BCL men brought out a protest procession in Chhanbari area from 1pm and started a sit-in programme blocking the road.
A long queue of Dhaka and Shimulia ghat-bound vehicles created a huge congestion following the road blockade.

Mohammad Aminul Islam, officer-in-charge of Sreenagar Police Station, said the Chhatra League leaders and activists blocked the expressway.
Police failed to convince them to move from the road, he said.
Traffic situation eased around 2pm after police charged baton to bring the situation under control, added the OC.
Ariful Islam Rabbi, former president of Sreenagar Govt College unit of BCL, said the district unit of Chhatra League announced the committee of the college unit on December 15.
He claimed that leaders and workers, who follow BNP-Jamaat ideology, have been given posts in the new committee.
