Padma Bridge to open in June, Quader reiterates
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has reiterated that the much-awaited Padma Bridge will be opened to traffic in June this year.
The minister said this while talking to reporters after a views-exchange meeting with officials of the bridge division in the city.
Ninety-six percent work of the main bridge has been competed so far while 90.50 percent of the overall work of the project has been finished, he said.
Earlier on several occasions, Quader said the Padma Bridge will be inaugurated in June 2022 as per target.
In reply to a query, Quader said the verdict in the Major (retd) Sinha murder case proved that Sheikh Hasina's government believes in the rule of law.
He said the country's judiciary is working independently and those who express unreasonable doubts about the judiciary will get answers to many questions through this verdict.
