Bangladesh Road Transport Authority fined Tk 57,31,400 to 1,408 buses during a month-long drive against charging extra fares to passengers in Dhaka and Chattogram cities.

Starting from November 8, the BRTA mobile courts conducted the drives till December 8, said a press release today.

Of the 1,408 buses, 1,328 were diesel-run and 80 were CNG-run buses.

The month-long drive began following allegations of overcharging passengers on the buses.
