Four held for stealing SS coil rolls in Ctg

Police arrested four persons in Chattogram yesterday with three imported SS coil rolls which were removed on the way to Gazipur from Chattogram.

The arrestees are Mojibur Rahaman (30), Masum (34), Babul (30) and Nurul (46). Mojibur is a middleman in hiring transports in the port city's Kadamtali, said police.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) (South) Bijoy Basak of CMP said Madina Group at Gazipur has imported the three SS coil rolls weighting 8,670kg via Chattogram port and local transport agent Loop Freight Ltd hired a truck via Mojibur to send those to Gazipur on June 30.

Mojibur first unloaded the coils to another truck in Kadamtali before the trip, said the DC.

The DC said failing to get the items till July 11, an official of Loop Freight Ltd, contacted Mojibur but he was giving misinformation. Later, Mamun filed a case with Sadarghat Police Station on July 12.
