Dhaka University Teachers' Association (DUTA) has condemned and demanded exemplary punishment for allegedly "threatening to kill" Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her family members during slogan by Chhatra Dal leaders a few days ago.

A statement in this regard, signed by DUTA General Secretary Nizamul Hoque Bhuiyan, was issued today (June 3, 2022)

According to the statement, those who were defeated during the Liberation War are back in a new form, again conspiring against the country.

Those who assassinated Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, have now threatened to assassinate the prime minister and her family, it said.

"We believe it is a conspiracy against the development of our country. Recently we have seen that some outsiders tried to enter DU campus with arms, which is very concerning," the statement also read.

However, Chhatra Dal General Secretary Saif Mahmud Jewel claimed that they did not shout such slogans.
