Bangladesh going strong while others struggling, says PM at Jashore rally

The allegation that there isn't enough money in the banks is false, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina told a public rally in Jashore today.
"There is enough money in our banks. If you withdraw money from the banks and keep it in the house, you are giving a chance to thieves," she said.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is addressing a public rally in Jashore this afternoon. This is the first time that the premier is attending a rally outside the capital since the Covid-19 pandemic.
"There is no problem with our reserve. Many people say there is no money in the bank but that is a lie," she said.
"There is an economic recession all over the world due to coronavirus. But we have been able to keep Bangladesh's economic foundation strong. I see, some people talk about reserves. There is no problem with the reserve," she said.
"Yesterday, I had a meeting with the governor of Bangladesh Bank. We don't have any problem with this, there is enough money in every bank," she added.
"We have remittance coming, investments are coming from abroad, import-export earnings have increased and tax collection has increased. While other countries of the world are struggling and suffering from economic recession, Bangladesh is still going strong," she added.
She also said BNP could not give anything to people except blood and murder.
"They have only looted," Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said adding that they have laundered people's money and played with people's fate.
"Koko and Tarique have been punished for laundering money abroad. Tarique Zia is a convict today," said Sheikh Hasina.
