Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday said people would vote for the Awami League in the next general election as it transformed the country into a developing nation.

She was speaking at a meeting of AL presidium members at the Gono Bhaban in the afternoon.

Hasina, also the AL president, said her party believes in democracy and it has belief in the people.

She said Bangladesh has become a developing nation due to relentless efforts by her government.

"The living standard of the people has improved as we are in power. We are reaching every facility to people's doorsteps through community clinic, My House-My Farm and Ashrayan projects."

Mentioning that cent percent people of the country has been brought under electricity coverage, Hasina said no one would remain homeless.

The PM said they have kept Bangladesh's economy stable during the coronavirus pandemic by giving various stimulus packages.

"Bangladesh's GDP growth rate now stands at 6.94 percent and its per capita income is $2591," she said.
