Law Minister Anisul Huq today said that the government does not lack humanity or compassion when it comes to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's medical treatment.

The government will take decision, with utmost importance, regarding the demand for allowing Khaleda Zia to go abroad for better treatment, he said.

The law minister said this after receiving a memorandum from the leaders of Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum, a pro-BNP lawyers' body, at the ministry office.

Anisul Huq said the government will examine the memorandum and take decision on this issue.

"Khaleda Zia has been allowed to stay at home as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has considered her state from a humanitarian aspect," the law minister said.

Fifteen pro-BNP lawyers, led by Fazlur Rahman and Zainul Abedin, met Law Minister Anisul Huq during handover of the memorandum.
