Dhaka quieter than usual ahead of BNP rally
On the eve of BNP's divisional rally in Dhaka, the roads were quieter than usual with fewer vehicles on the streets in the capital today.
The Daily Star staff correspondents who have been out and about all day reported that the streets are emptier than seen on regular Fridays.
After noon, movement of people on the streets of Dhaka city decreased.
Members of law enforcement agencies were seen standing at different points in the capital, according to our staff correspondents.
Citizens going out for emergency work also faced trouble due to shortage of public transport.
Our staff correspondent also spoke to a number of people at ticket counters in Sayedabad and found that there are not enough passengers on long-distance buses, as such fewer vehicles are leaving Dhaka.
