BNP's rally in Keraniganj underway

BNP's rally to press home their one-point demand for elections under a non-partisan caretaker government started at the party office in Keraniganj's Jinjira.
The rally started at 3:00pm, as announced earlier.
BNP leaders and activists have been arriving at the rally venue since this afternoon to take part in the rally.
Hundreds of party men were chanting slogans in front of the party office, our correspondent reports from the spot.
Leaders and activists arrived at the rally venue in brief processions from different wards wearing coulourful caps, carrying placards and posters, and chanting anti-government chants.
Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas will attend the rally as the chief guest and Dhaka South City BNP Convener Abdus Salam will speak at the rally as the special guest, according to party sources.
The rally will be presided over by Dhaka District BNP President Khondokar Abu Ashfaq.
BNP yesterday announced a 15-day programme, including a series of rallies and road marches, in Dhaka and other cities starting today.
The BNP started its one-point movement on July 12, and has since been holding various programmes, including sit-ins at the entry points of Dhaka on July 29.
