BNP out to create anarchy over polls
BNP is trying to create anarchy in the country centring the upcoming Jatiya Sangsad polls, said Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan yesterday.
"They (BNP) have now become an isolated political party. People witnessed their atrocities and killings. So, they are not responding to BNP's call," he told journalists after attending a view exchange meeting with government officials at Raipur upazila here.
"So, if BNP wants to do something like arson and killings, the countrymen will resist them. The government has all the preparations to deal with any situation," said Kamal.
In a separate event, he said since Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina came to power in 2008, the number of puja mandaps has been increasing every year.
This year, about 32,400 puja mandapas have been set up in the country, he said.
Apart from police personnel, around six lakh Ansars have been deployed in the mandaps to ensure security round-the-clock.
