AL to hold series of programmes from Sept 23
The ruling Awami League today announced a series of programmes to be held from September 23 to October 4, following BNP's announcement of a 15-day programme yesterday.
The AL programmes, organised by AL and its associate bodies, will be held both inside and outside Dhaka.
Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif briefed the journalists regarding the programmes after a joint meeting of the party's central leaders, the presidents and general secretaries of AL's Dhaka City north and south units, and its affiliated and front organisations.
The meeting was held at the party president's Dhanmondi office at 12:00pm today.
Mahbubul Alam Hanif said AL's Dhaka north and south units will hold a rally at the south gate of the Baitul Mukarram Mosque on September 23.
On September 25, Dhaka south unit AL will organise a rally at Jatrabari while another rally will be organised by Dhaka north unit in Uttara around 2:30pm.
Another rally will be held in Keraniganj on September 26.
Gazipur City AL will hold a rally in Tongi on September 27. On the same day, the Dhaka north unit will hold a rally at Mirpur's Kafrul area.
A dua mahfil will be organised on September 28 marking the Eid-E-Miladunnabi at the party's central office in the capital's Bangabandhu Avenue.
Discussion meeting will be held at Bangabandhu International Conference Center on September 29 marking the birthday of AL President and the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
On September 30, a farmers' rally will be held under the initiative of the Krishak [Farmers] League. After that, a rally will be held on the initiative of AL in Chattogram's Mirsarai on October 4.
Leaders and activists of all tiers of Awami League and its various affiliated organisations have been asked to participate in these programmes.
