30 BNP men injured in clash with BCL in Pirojpur

At least 30 BNP leaders and activists were injured in a clash with Chhatra League men in Pirojpur town today.
Police said 11 men were detained after the clash.
In line with the party's central programmes, leaders and activists of the BNP gathered at their party office in Pirojpur this morning to demonstrate for their 10-point demand.
Around 11:00am, a group of men, led by Aniruzzaman Anik, president of the district unit BCL, attacked the procession and vandalised BNP's office, said Alamgir Hossain, convener of Pirojpur district unit BNP.
He said at least 30 BNP men were injured in the clash.
Contacted, Anik said they took position on the streets to prevent BNP-Jamaat's anarchy.
"At least four BCL men were injured by the BNP men," he said.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Saidur Rahman, superintendent of Pirojpur police, said the clash broke out as the BNP men attacked the BCL activists first.
"Police recovered four crude bombs and detained 11 from the spot," he added.
