Police have detained three people, including two activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), in connection with the attack on JCD leaders and activists at Dhaka University today.
"Police have detained three people from the DU campus. Two of them have been identified as JCD activists, while the third person is not involved with JCD politics," Shahbagh Police Station Officer-in-Charge, Moudut Hawlader, told our DU correspondent.
"No decision has been made on whether there will be any case filed against them," said the OC, adding that the names of the detainees were not known immediately.
At least 30 of its leaders and activists were injured in an attack by Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on Dhaka University campus this morning, Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) has claimed.
JCD claims that BCL leaders and activists of Jagannath Hall attacked them with iron rods, hockey sticks and sticks.
BCL, on the other hand, has denied the allegation.
