Tohuruddin Ahmed passes away

Syed Tohuru-ddin Ahmed, known as Mia Shaheb, from Raipur in Sirajganj breathed his last on Tuesday. He was 76, said a press release.

He left behind his wife, three sons, two daughters, sons-in-law, a daughter-in-law, and grandchildren.

His namaz-e-janaza took place at Raipur Eidgah ground and he was buried at Raipur Graveyard.

A doa mahfil will be held in Sirajganj tomorrow.

He worked at Quami Jute Mills in Sirajganj till 2004. He operated various charitable organisations and educational institutions in the district.

Tohuruddin Ahmed was the father-in-law of Syed Mohammad Kamal, country manager of Mastercard Bangladesh, and vice president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh.
