Anwar Hossain passes away

Anwar Hossain, former managing director (MD) of Khulna Newsprint Mills and father of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha Special Correspondent Tanzim Anwar, passed away early yesterday.

He breathed his last at 1:30am at Dhanmondi Popular Hospital, aged 78.

He left behind wife, two sons and a daughter to mourn his death. He also served as managing director of Khulna Hardboard Mills, Karnaphuli Rayon and Chemicals Limited and Pakshi Paper Mills.

Anwar had been suffering from various old-age complications. He will be buried at his family graveyard at his ancestral village Dorillah in Nandail upazila, Mymensigh today.

Jatiya Press Club, Dhaka Reporters' Unity, Aviation and Tourism Journalists' Forum of Bangladesh and Diplomatic Correspondent Association, Bangladesh expressed profound shock at his death.
