Workers protest gas crisis in Savar, Ashulia

Workers of Savar and Ashulia industrial areas today demanded end of acute gas crisis.

Workers' association leaders formed a human chain in front of Ashulia Press Club in Baipail area on Nabinagar-Chandra highway around 11 am, our Savar correspondent reports.

The workers said that thousands of workers live in the areas and for several days they have been suffering from gas crisis.

Sarwar Hossain, general secretary of Garments Shramik Oikya League central committee, threatened during the programme to besiege the Titas Gas office if the crisis is not solved soon.

Bangladesh Garments Industrial Shramik Federation Savar, Ashulia and Dhamrai zonal committee President Md Ibrahim, Swadhin Bangla Garments Kormochari Federation central committee Vice-president Al Kamran, Savar Ashulia and Dhamrai zonal committee General Secretary Ashik were also present during the demonstration.
