Tofail Ahmed’s health condition improves

Health condition of senior Awami League leader Tofail Ahmed, who is undergoing treatment at Medanta Hospital in Gurgaon, India, has improved.

"He had suffered mild stroke, but his condition is now better. He has been shifted to cabin from the ICU," Shaban Mahmood, minister (Press) of Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi, told The Daily Star today.

Doctors are treating his cardiological and neurology-related problems, he said.

Tofail (77), an advisory council member of Awami League and a former minister, was flown to India in an air ambulance on September 1 after he had become ill. Before he was taken to India, the MP from Bhola-1 was taken to Square Hospital in Dhaka for observation.
