Three more dolphin carcasses found off Chattogram coast

Three more dolphins were found dead off the coast of Sitakunda in Chattogram on Wednesday.

Mohammad Kamal Hossain, range officer of Sitakunda coastal forest department, said locals in Mandaritola spotted the carcasses of the dolphins in the sea and alerted the forest department.

An official of Sitakunda fisheries and livestock department, Md Shamim Ahmed, said, "It is still not clear what caused their deaths. The dolphins could have died after getting stuck in fishing nets."

 On August 20, locals found a dead dolphin off the coast of Bagachtar in the same upazila.
