Three killed by lightning
Three people were killed by lightning in two districts yesterday.
In Munshiganj, two people were killed by lightning at Dakshin Kusumpur Lebutala in Sirajdikhan upazila, reports our local correspondent.
The deceased are Mohammad Kausar, 38, a fisher from Louhajhang upazila; and Jumman Sardar, 35, an auto-rickshaw driver, from the same village, said Syed Ahsan Kabir Shishir, a UP member of Ichapura ward-3.
The two got struck by lightning struck when they were trying to take shelter in a nearby shop, said Officer-in-Charge AKM Mizanul Haque of Sirajdikhan Police Station.
Meanwhile in Sirajganj, a farmer was killed after being struck by lightning in Shahjadpur upazila, reports UNB.
Sultan Pramanik, 60, from Char Anganu village, died on the spot, said Shahjadpur Police Station OC Nazrul Islam Mridha.
He and his co-workers went to a paddy field to harvest in the morning. Although all the workers managed to rush to a safer place, Sultan got struck by lightning, said OC Nazrul.
