Noakhali Medical College: Students stage demo for safe campus

Students of Abdul Malek Ukil Medical College in Noakhali demonstrated on campus yesterday to press forward a 21-point demand, including safe campus, better accommodation, safety for female students, adequate supply of books in the library and ban on outsiders.

Over 300 students participated in the movement and locked the administrative building of the college from 10:00am to 3:00pm.

Besides, they also confined some  college staffers, including the librarian, for allegedly misbehaving with the students.

Later, in assurance of the college principal [acting] Dr Mahbubur Rahman, they withdrew their demonstration for the day. But they declared to suspend their classes, until their demands are met.

 Mahbubur said, "The demands are reasonable. We'll try to implement them as soon as possible."
