Some spreading falsehood about new curriculum

Education Minister Dipu Moni yesterday said a group intentionally attacked the education system, spreading falsehood over the new curriculum using misleading information and digitally-altered images.
She was addressing "Prof Kabir Chowdhury Memorial Lecture-12", marking the former national professor's 100th birth anniversary. Ekattorer Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee arranged the programme at the capital's Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
Speaking as chief guest, Dipu Moni said, "As there are mistakes in textbooks, we have been issuing corrections. But a malicious group is spreading propaganda about our new curriculum...,"
Noted director and playwright Mamunur Rashid delivered the memorial lecture at the event.
Speaking at the programme, Justice Shamsuddin Choudhury Manik said, "We will not tolerate communalism in this country. We need a social revolution to fight it."
Theatre personality Ramendu Majumdar, acamedecian Shyamoli Nasrin Chowdhury, singer Rezwana Choudhury Bannya, and Jatra artist Milon Kanti Dey also spoke.
Shahriar Kabir, president of Nirmul committee, presided over the programme.
A documentary film on the professor's life and works was exhibited after the programme.
Prof Kabir was born on February 9, 1923 and breathed his last on December 13, 2011.
