Security heightened at Central Shaheed Minar for Feb 21: home minister

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal today said CCTV and night vision cameras will be installed at the Central Shaheed Minar and adjoining areas as a part of security measures on International Mother Language Day.
Archways will also be set up at the entry and exit points of the Shaheed Minar, said the minister after a meeting on law and order on the occasion of February 21 Shaheed Dibash and International Mother Language Day at the secretariat.
President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will pay their tributes this year. "Law enforcers will ensure adequate security measures for their arrival," said the home boss.
Law enforcers will take necessary steps to avoid any untoward situation and control extra crowd in the Central Shaheed Minar and Azimpur graveyard areas, he said.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) will take measures for traffic movement and a traffic guideline will be issued through media before the occasion, the minister said.
Security arrangements will be taken for diplomats and the representatives from different diplomatic missions, so they can pay their homage smoothly.
