RMCH interns withdraw strike, return to work

Interns at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) returned to work after withdrawing their strike this afternoon (October 23, 2022).

Following a conflict with Rajshahi University students, the interns enforced a fresh 72-hour strike yesterday to realised their three-point demand including the arrest of those who attacked the doctors and carried out vandalism.

RU-RMCH conflict: Intern doctors on fresh strike

"We have called off the strike. The intern doctors joined work at 3:15 pm. But our demands have to be met within 72 hours," Imran Hossain, convener of the RMCH Intern Doctors' Council, told The Daily Star around 3:30pm today.

Earlier, the intern doctors went on indefinite strike early hours of October 20 protesting attacks and vandalism in the hospital premises by students of Rajshahi University over death of their classmate.
