Raushan Ershad's condition improves further
Opposition Leader Raushan Ershad's condition has improved further as she can speak now.
The 78-year- old chief patron of JP was flown to Bangkok by air ambulance on Friday night.
She is now undergoing treatment at Bumrungrad Hospital.
"Madam's physical condition has improved further today as she can talk now," Mamun Hasan, assistant private secretary of the opposition leader told The Daily Star.
Quoting Rahgir Almahi Saad Ershad, son of Raushan and a lawmaker of Jatiya Party who is now with the opposition leader, Mamun also said doctors are hopeful about her recovery.
The Daily Star, however, couldn't contact Saad Ershad, despite repeated attempts.
Raushan's physical condition deteriorated last week as she remained unconscious for most of the time at the ICU of the capital's Combined Military Hospital (CMH).
Since Aug 15, Raushan Ershad was being treated at the ICU of Dhaka CHM due to respiratory problems and increased levels of carbon dioxide in her lungs.
Wife of former Bangladesh president late HM Ershad, Raushan, an elected lawmaker from Mymensingh-4 (Mymensingh Sadar), has been suffering from respiratory problems for the past several months.
