People paying last respects to Dr Zafrullah at Shaheed Minar
People of all walks of life are paying their last respects to Gonoshasthaya Kendra founder and valiant freedom fighter Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury, whose body was taken to Central Shaheed Minar this morning.
A refrigerated van carrying his body was taken to the premises of Shaheed Minar from the mortuary of BIRDEM around 10:00am.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. A contingent of police led by Hedayetul Islam, additional district commissioner, paid guard of honour to Dr Zafrullah at 12:30 pm at Shaheed Minar.
His body will then be taken to Suhrawardy Udyan, where his first namaz-e-janaza will be held at 2:30pm.
His body will be taken to Gonoshasthaya Kendra in Savar at 10:00am tomorrow for his second namaz-e-janaza, to be held after Juma prayers.
Dr Zafrullah breathed his last around 11:00pm on Tuesday while undergoing treatment at Gonoshasthaya Nagar Hospital in Dhanmondi.
