No alternative to research: president

President Mohammed Shahabuddin has urged the university authorities to increase extra-curricular activities in the educational institutions.

He made the suggestion when Pabna University of Science and Technology Vice-Chancellor Prof Hafiza Khatun paid a courtesy call on him at Bangabhaban yesterday.

The president, also chancellor of the university, stressed on the research activities in the university.

"There is no alternative to research to ensure the quality higher education," he said.

The president directed the university authorities to introduce a time-befitting curriculum so that every student can sustain in the competitive world.
