Man held with 3,565 yaba pills at Dhaka airport

Armed Police Battalion (APBn) members yesterday detained a man at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital and recovered yaba pills worth over Tk 10 lakh from his possession.

Zahid Hossain, 27, son of Abdul Gafur of Cox's Bazar's Teknaf upazila, was loitering around the airport's domestic terminal. His behaviour was suspicious, said Mohammad Ziaul Haque, additional superintendent of ABPn.

The detainee admitted to carrying 3,565 yaba pills during primary investigation.

The filing of a case is in process at the airport police station.

A total of three 'yaba smugglers' have been detained from the airport premises in the last couple of weeks.
