Jubo League Ctg North Unit: Two VPs of new committee resign

After over eight and a half months of the council, the partial committee for Chattogram north district unit Jubo League (JL) was announced on Monday, with SM Rashedul Alam as president and Md Shahjahan as general secretary.

However, there have been expressions of anger and dissatisfaction over the committee soon after the declaration.

The two vice presidents of the newly announced committee -- Nurul Mostafa Manik and Rajibul Ahsan Suman -- resigned immediately after the committee's announcement.

On Monday, the committee was announced in a circular, jointly signed by Jubo League Central Committee Chairman Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash and General Secretary Mainul Hossain Khan Nikhil.

Contacted, Manik said he was a vice president of the same unit in the previous committee and was not interested in holding the same post. "I had submitted my CV for the post of president."

Rajbul also resigned on the same grounds, as mentioned in his resignation letter.

However, Mostafizur Rahman Masud, office secretary of JL's central committee, said he did not receive any resignation letter from any leader.

"The two most eligible leaders have been selected for the office of president and general secretary," he added.

This correspondent could not reach the JL chairman and general secretary over phone despite repeated attempts.
