Four ASPs to join police aviation wing as pilots
Four assistant superintendents of police (ASP) including a female officer are going to join as pilots of the aviation wing of Bangladesh Police.
The police officers with six others from different forces participated in the aviation basic course at Army Aviation School. They completed their solo flight, said a Police Headquarters press release today.
The four ASPs are Fatema-Tuz-Zohra, Mushfiqul Hoque, Saroar Hossain and Abul Hossain.
Meanwhile, Inspector General of Police Benazir Ahmed said with the introduction of the police's aviation wing, the force will be able to achieve the capability in the fields of three dimensions i.e. land, water and air.
The wing will play a special role in fast communication, conducting operations in remote areas, he said during a view exchange programme with a delegation of theArmy Aviation School led by Maj Gen IKM Mostahsenul Baki, group commander of Army Aviation group, said the release.
While speaking at the programme, Maj Gen Mostahsenul Baki said the police trainees are participating in the training with great interest and sincerity.
He hopped that they would be able to build themselves as qualified pilots, added the release.
The process of adding two state-of-the-art helicopters in the police aviation wing from Russia is on for further enhancement of the force's efficiency and capability, it also said.
