Father, son killed in clash over land

A man and his son were killed while three others were injured in a clash resulting from a property-related feud in Mymensingh Sadar upazila yesterday.

Abul Khayer, 60, of Churkhai Jaamtola area, had a long-standing dispute with his neighbor Kamal Mia over a piece of land. A clash broke out between the two parties after Abul and his men went to claim the land around 3:00pm, said Shah Kamal Akanda, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station, quoting locals.

Kamal attacked Abul and his men with sharp weapons, leaving him, his son Farhad Hossain, 20, and three others critically injured, the OC added.

Locals rushed them to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared Abul and Farhad dead. The others are currently being treated at the hospital.

The bodies were sent for autopsies. No case has been filed in this regard till the filing of this report at 7:45pm.
