Eastern univ holds seventh convocation

The seventh convocation of Eastern University was held at Bashundhara International Convention City in the capital yesterday.

In the convocation, a total of 3,109 students graduated from fall semester of 2019 to the spring semester of 2023 and 10 students with the highest CGPA from four faculties of the university achieved gold medals.

Professor Emeritus Dr AK Azad Chowdhury, former vice-chancellor of Dhaka University and former chairman of University Grants Commission, spoke at the ceremony as the convocation speaker.

Deputy Minister of Education Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury presided over the event. Chairman of board of trustees of the university, Mohammad Ali Azzam, and VC Prof Dr Shahid Akhtar Hossain were also present.
