Deadline of ‘Maitree Diwas’ competition extended

The deadline for participating in the Maitree Diwas Logo and Backdrop Design Competition has been extended to November 13.

Bangladesh and India will jointly celebrate "Maitree Diwas (Friendship Day)" in 18 countries on December 6, marking 50 years of Bangladesh's independence and 50th anniversary of Bangladesh-India diplomatic relations.

The contest will take place in two categories: one for logo and the other for backdrop design. The first prize for both categories is $1,000 and 2nd, 3rd and consolation prizes would be $700, $500 and $200.

On December 6, 1971, India recognised an independent Bangladesh,  according to a circular of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

An entry could be by an individual or team project, provided that participating team members are all nationals of India or Bangladesh, or both. Details will be found at the websites of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and High Commission of India, Dhaka.
