Cyclone Remal: 5 more deaths reported from Pirojpur, Jhalakathi

Cyclone Remal has claimed lives of five more people in Pirojpur and Jhalakathi yesterday.

Among the deceased in Pirojpur, two men died after trees fell on them and a child drowned during the storm, Mohammad Jahedur Rahman, deputy commissioner of Pirojpur, told our local correspondent.

Their identities could not be known immediately, he said.

Another deceased, Shahanur Rahman Shamim, who was a businessperson of Pirojpur town, died after being electrocuted yesterday morning.

In Jhalakathi's Kathalia, a man died yesterday morning when a tree collapsed on him during the storm.

Yesterday, 13 deaths were reported from Cyclone Remal in seven coastal districts. Eight died yesterday and the rest on Sunday.
