CRP to set up regional unit in Rajshahi

The center for rehabilitation of the paralysed, CRP, is going to establish a regional unit in Rajshahi in a few years.

Valerie Ann Taylor, founder and coordinator of CRP revealed the information in an introduction meeting held at the proposed centre's premises at Kapashia area yesterday.

For establishing the CRP unit with most of its services, Rajshahi City Corporation Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton donated a piece of 15 bigha land.

The CRP unit would be named as Shaheed AHM Kamaruzzaman and Jahanara Zaman Center and it is expected to deal with 12,000 patients in a year.

Valerie said the country has 13 CRP units. The establishment of Rajshahi unit would reduce pressure on the headquarters in Savar, she said.
