Collect documents of Liberation War scattered across the world: PM
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has directed that all documents of the Liberation War, which are scattered across the world, be collected and filed in the country's archives.
The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) meeting today approved a Tk 63 crore project titled, "Collection and preservation of audio-visual documents of the Liberation War from domestic and foreign sources, as well as strengthening the capacity of Bangladesh Film Archive."
Planning Minister MA Mannan said that the directive will be implemented from July 2021 to June 2024.
As part of the project, documentaries based on 400 heroic freedom fighters' interviews will be produced. Additionally, a film museum will be established and Bangladesh Film Archive's technical capacity will be enhanced, according to the project proposal.
Preservation of audio-visual documents of Liberation War will be done, and other documents collected for education and research will be reviewed and reprinted as needed, reads the project proposal.
Books, periodicals, publications, song books, posters, leaflets, photos, manuscripts, and other Liberation War-related materials will be collected and preserved.
Organizing regular exhibitions from the archives of audio-visual documents related to the Liberation War, expanding research opportunities for researchers, students, and filmmakers in specialized archives and film libraries, seminars, and symposiums on various Liberation War topics will also be held, reads the project proposal.
